The structure of society has changed so drastically in the past few years, the clear line that once outlined the role of both men and women has now been unclear as their roles have overlapped with time. In the earlier years the roles of both men and women were clearly defined with the men being the superior provider while the women were the caregivers for both the children and the men who were their husbands. Women and men are very different in several ways. Not only physically, but also emotionally, and mentally. Because of these differences, there is also a distinction in the way men or women are treated. However, who has it harder men or women?
Growing up and still as of today most women are viewed inferior. Men had the muscles while women had the brain as some may state. Jobs that women held they got paid minimum wage and did not receive bonuses while if men held the same jobs, they received higher pay bonuses. Even though men had the muscles women had the brains. Women have proven themselves as able workers who and can deliver at the workplace and in many cases have performed exceptionally better than men in positions such as customer service representatives and even as secretaries. Women would make money and pay bills and end up being broke whereas men would make money and use it for recreational purposes.
It was hard enough for women to get jobs but was even harder to get a day off or maternity leave, but one the other hand men could just call and take off and it would be no problem. Men viewed themselves as the top dog in the family and wanted the woman to do everything and still please him whenever he wanted. In the past men dictated what women could wear, how much money they could spend and on what, even though the women made that money. After marriage women’s family were distant and made it a taboo for her to keep in touch cause she had to give all her attention to her husband, but the men were able to stay in contact.
